Some Hope on Easter Deals!
Hi Everyone,
I went through the Walmart flyer and the Shoppers flyer and Walmart had some deals on kids clothes which is good, but Shoppers didn't really have anything. BUTTTT I have been looking on line to see if there are any other deals at different stores. And I have found some stores that are having sales up to 30%, 50% to 80% off children's wear, which is great! I have two girls to shop for so this will be great for them! Can not wait to pick out cute spring and summer outfits for them! Also I found some great boys tops and pants on sale for 50% off! That still look stylish and that are from a brand name store (Like I said before 12 going on 20). If it doesn't have the logo on the front, it is only consider to be worn around the house, not out in public???? (Don't know where he got this logic?) Can someone please help me on understanding logos? Half the logos on these shirts you can not even tell what they are? Is that a flag, an animal, and why is the word backwards? I guess I am to old to understand style.
Also, I am still going to go to each store just to see if I can find anything. Just because there is no deals listed on the flyer that your looking for doesn't mean the store will not have some great deals. I also still need to check out toy stores like Toys R Us. Toys R Us is a bit expensive but I am going to see if I can find any toy gems at a decent price. If Toys R Us is a no go then Walmart will usually have toys at a discount price, especially in the clearance area. Walmart has some cute small toys on sale right now which I saw in their flyer, so Walmart might be a bit better. Walmart also has certain Easter items for a 1.00 that are good for adding something small to a goody bag. But the discount store might have something better as well. Will check their still.
So tomorrow will be a big day for me, not also do I need to buy food for my weekly shopping, but I also have to get all my Easter stuff for the kids! Thank God I have back up on my shopping trip! The Easter Bunny! Oh wait he cancelled on me (probably because I complained about not getting my reminder and free samples!) so my talented and great husband will just have to back me up on this one! :)
I will tell you all my findings and hopefully savings on Monday!
Happy Shopping! Thanks for Reading!

Still looking for Easter deals...I need some help from the Easter Bunny!
Hi Everyone,
Well I am hoping that Walmart and Shoppers will have some Easter Deals this week, as all the other flyer's I have seen don't have any or have very little of what I am looking for (This is what I get for starting late, sorry the Easter Bunny didn't send me my email reminder).
But Home Depot had a really nice patio set on sale....(Oh sorry, ya forgot Easter, kids, budget, focus)!
If not I might have to contact the Easter Bunny personally and ask for emergency help! Or I might have to reconsider my budget. (Maybe a bit too low).
Even though I am a couponer, oh sorry excuse me, a save-a-dollar-diva :) and even though I always try and score the best deals for as little as possible I sometimes have to go into my purse (Even though it kills me, seriously I feel pain in my chest lol) and pay full price for something and not go into my purse for price matching or coupons. (This doesn't happen to often but when it does it brings tears to my eyes lol)
Now, I don't think all hope is lost, I still have to check out some other small stores and discount stores to see if there is anything else out there I missed. So my mission might turn out better than what I am thinking it is going to be.
I think there comes a time in a couponers life were you just have to pay full price for certain things. (As much as I hate it!) But this is why we all save as much money as we can, because then when we have to pay full price for something it doesn't hurt that bad, because we already saved that money to use it. :)
So when you pay full price for something don't think it is a failure, think of it as a treat, because technically your using the money you already saved to buy the things you need that are not on sale or you don't have a coupon for. We all have good weeks of saving money and some bad weeks of only saving a little. So for all of you out there, like me, crying thinking of the thought of paying full prices, don't worry, next week is another week, another sale and other deals that will be available for ours for the taking! :)
Now, I got to go and email the Easter Bunny and ask him why I didn't get my email reminder! I totally signed up for the news letter and free samples! (Still have not received nothing!)

Something cute for your little ones on Easter!
Hi Everyone,
Some of you may have already seen me post these before on Smart Canucks, but just in case you haven't I thought you would all like these. :)
We all try to find things to do with our kids on Easter (or to keep them calm in some cases lol). So why not give them a colouring project! All you need to do is print out these great colouring pages with great Easter themes, a pack of crayons and your set to go!
Also, on one of the sites you can customise the colour page to have your child's name on it! Which is even more cool! A fun art's project that costs you almost nothing! Just some ink, paper and some bright colouring crayons!
These are also good for making colouring books and added them into any goodie bag. :)
Enjoy!

A bit disappointed on the fylers this week...(Well for me at least)
Hi Everyone,
So I was able to take a look at some of my local flyer's for this week and well I am a bit disappointed... (Feel like my ice cream fell off the cone and I have to go buy a new one) I was hoping to find some great deals on Easter things (I did find some) but not as I was hoping. I still have some other flyer's I need to still go through but I think I am going to have to work just a bit extra hard on this mission. (Wish all missions could be like the Resolve one)
I have also decided to buy some Easter stuff after Easter is over and save it for next year. Usually after any major holiday a lot of seasonal items will go on sale or clearance and their prices will drop down so much, you will feel sick you paid full price for them (Or is it just because I ate to many chocolate Easter eggs?). I did this with Christmas last year, I bought wrapping paper and other Christmas items for decorating right after Christmas was over and got some great deals! Store them away and will use them for this years Christmas.
Of course you can not stock up on to much chocolates, as chocolates of course do have expire dates (If I could I would, but the chocolates would have been gone way before next Easter anyways lol) but on other things you can, like Easter decorations, Easter baskets, Easter toys etc.
I think I am also going to try some small local stores or as I like to call them "Ma and Pa Shops" to see if I can find any other great deals.
Sometimes small independent stores will have great items at half the price or more. So that small little shop you have been wanting to check out might just have that great deal your looking for. :)
I will let you all know tomorrow if I find any other great deals! (Hoping I do)
Before ending I would like to give a shout out to a fellow coupon on Smart Canucks! Thanks walkonby for the thought! :)

Easter Shopping Time!
Hi Everyone,
Well Easter is around the corner and with Easter comes Easter savings! This weekend I am going to go Easter shopping to see what types of deals and price matching I can do to save as much money as I can! I have a budget of course and I am going to try and stick with it.
I love Easter because it is the start of spring and new beginnings, which means the new fresh start of savings! I have 3 children I need to buy for (Two are young and the other is 12, but thinks his 20, kids these days) so I am thinking of getting them of course a bunch of chocolates, a toy each for the younger ones, some cologne or men's body wash kit for the other one (Like I said 12 going on 20) and a outfit each. (I know a lot! But hey I am always up for a mission) I am waiting to get this weeks flyers to see if there are any great deals this week.
I am going to as well for sure be looking at the clearance sections of certain stores to see if I can find any goodies :) You would be surprised at what great things you can find at a great price! I am hoping some cologne will be on clearance and some great toys!
I usually go to the dollar store or discount stores to see if I can find any last minute things to add as well. But I find that you can spend alot in a dollar store or discount store!
Because you think everything is a dollar and don't think it will add up that much. Then when you check out you realize you have spent more than what you have already bought! (You realize that the chocolate you bought at the discount or dollar store you could have gone to Costco and bought it in bulk for that price!) So I have to be very careful of my spending and make sure it is something that is truly a deal and not just buy it because it's "cute and yummy" and it's a dollar.
If all goes well and I save money and stick to my budget I might pick up a little something for me along the way too. (Hey a girl can not say no to chocolate, especially during Easter!) There goes my diet! Oh well I can always start when Christmas comes around...oh no wait...that is even worse, maybe Halloween I will start...wait...no Canada Day?...oh that wont work either...New Years????...Well you all get the point!
Happy Easter and Happy Shopping! I will let you all know how I do after the weekend! :)

Why did I pick this line! Just pay for it lady!
Well this weekend I went shopping and got some great price matching deals and of course got some great savings. Everything was going well and when I went to the cashier to ring in my items I told her right away I had a lot of price matches and coupons.
Which she was totally cool with. Now this cashier was nice, but looked at every price match and coupon with a fine tooth and comb! Which is fine and I don't have a problem waiting. BUT of course there has to be a loud mouth in the line behind me. She was huffing and puffing like Puff the Magic Dragon (By the way love the movie!) and of course she had to make her voice heard by saying "WHY DID I HAVE TO PICK THIS LINE! JUST PAY FOR IT LADY!"
Now usually on any give day I would have turned and told her right off, (I have no problem telling people my thoughts as I have no shame) BUT today was her lucky day because she had her child with her. And because I was raised to be a lady not an animal, I decided to not say nothing and just smile at her. (Which I think made her even more mad lol)
I just have to vent and say I am a customer and have the right to stay as long as I want when it is my turn to do my transactions, if you got a problem and are in a hurry you are more than welcome to go to another line. That is why there is more than one cashier. (She had 12 to pick from that were not busy at the time)
But I must say I am proud of myself because I was able to still get all my deals and savings and still remain the pose, great, calm save a dollar diva I am!
Don't let people get to you when they yell at you, consider it noise and just remember they are paying full price while your not! :)

YES!!! I got my Free Resolve!
Hi Everyone,
Well my shopping this weekend went well but my best score was on Friday night when I got 2 Resolve Stain Removers for Free! But of course there is always a challenge to every mission LOL. So I got to No Frills ready to go with my 2.00 off Resolve coupons I got through a trade. They were on sale at No Frills for 1.88 so I would be getting them for free and little bit more!
I fasted walked over to the area were the Resolve usually is and then there I saw it, my heart sank...NONE LEFT!!!! all of them were gone :(. Now I usually would not be upset, because I would have come back another day, but the coupons I had expired on that day!!! So I needed to use them...As I was about to to give up and leave to go to another store I looked up at the top shelf (Usually were they have boxes of products to restock them when needed to) and there they were...TWO left!!!!! I quickly got one of the stock boys to go up for me and grab the last two! When the boy handed them to me I felt like I won an award LOL. I had three coupons though for the Resolve, so I thought get two here and then I can use the coupon at the next store I was going too.
I get to the cashier of course to ring in my Resolve to get them for FREE. The cashier was really nice and pleasant. I told her right away I had the coupons and she said it was no problem. When she rang everything in and did the total she was shock! LOL. She said "well your total today is 0 which is awsome!) She then started to ask me were I got the coupons. I told her I got them through a couponers trade and also told her they were at coupon zones near the product. She then started to talk about how her mom would love to get one of those coupons. So instead of using the other coupon like I planed I gave it to her, and told her it expired today and to have her mom use it that night. She was just getting off her shift and her mom was coming to get her and she said she would have her use it on the way home!
So not also did I get my Resolve for FREE I also helped out a really nice cashier! :)
Moral of the story...Pass on the coupon love!

So many coupons to pick? Which ones are right for me?
Hi Everyone,
Like many new couponers out there I am still going through the coupon madness! As a newbie it can some times be overwhelming when you have so many coupons in your hands and don't know which ones you really need in the first place? I have decided that the coupons I need usually are for basic items:
body soap/shampoos/conditioners/hair products
bread coupons
egg coupons
snack coupons
meat/fresh produce coupons
From now on if I receive any other coupons I would usually not need I will be traded them at couponers meetings or being a coupon fairy and leaving them at various shopping places so others may use them. (We all need to spread the love, one couponers coupons could be someone else's gold ticket to great savings!)
Now if your having the same problem like me and don't know were to start this is what I always think about before clipping any coupon and the big answer:
Life Style Is Key:
I think of the products I use on a every day bases. For example, If you cook alot using a certain product or product(s) look to see if that company has any coupons or offers available. This can be done through the companies websites or just by calling them.
If you see no offers on the companies websites, a simple email is just as good. :) many companies will provided coupons to you if you would like to test out their products or if you have been buying their products for awhile.
I am also a big fan of looking through flyers and seeing the deals that are out every week in your local community paper. This will give you a general idea of what is available in deals wise in your community. Also you will be able to see the different products that are offered as well. This is also good so you can price match if a certain store has a product less than others. If your thinking of getting a coupon for a certain product but never see it in the flyers or in your local shopping areas chances are it is not a good idea to get the coupon for it.
Also, look at the coupons that are out there for the simplest products you use. If you buy the 10.00 shampoo, but never really see a coupon for it, but see coupons for other shampoo products, maybe it is time to try other products? (This is of course after you have done everything in your power to get a coupon for that product!) You never know, you might find a great product that does the same thing as the expensive brand at a cheaper price.
I know every person out there has a different life style then me, so see what coupons represent you, who you are, and your lifestyle. :) Maybe your that makeup diva who loves to save on beauty, maybe your the mom who loves to save for the bigger things in life, or maybe your just like me who is an everyday person who just likes to save a few bucks for an extra cup of coffee during the week. :) Everyone is different and that's what makes every coupon unique, just like each couponer.

First Couponers Meeting Went Great!-March 23, 2012
Hi Everyone!
Well yesterday was a great couponers meeting in York Region! A great bunch of people! and some great coupon trading and samples! This of course was my first meeting and loved it! Don't get me wrong I was a bit nervous as I am a newbie at this and didn't know what to expect. But everyone was friendly, outgoing and just a pleasure to be around! Will for sure do it again.
For people who have never been to a couponers meeting, I highly recommend it. You get to not just trade coupons/samples but you also get some great tips and advice on how to save even more money! Sometimes 6 couponers heads are better than 1 couponers
I say don't be shy and take a chance, because I am sure if every couponer went to at least one meeting they would be hooked and love it! To all the couponers out there, keep an open mind.
If your not one of those people who likes to meet people from online, that is ok too. Maybe start a couponers meeting in your community or with your family memebers and close friends.
There are many ways to save and also enjoy doing it at the same time! Couponing doesn't have to be time consuming, because when you have a bunch of other couponers to help you, you will see the time fly by with great results!

Why Does Couponing Have A Bad Rep?-March 22, 2012
A fellow Couponer asked me this questions :"Why does couponing have such a bad rep? "
Here is what I think...
I think couponing has a bad rep because people seem to think that if you coupon your "cheap" or "poor" and that is not the case! I like saving money so the money i save and go to other things i need. Can I afford to go and buy things full price. Of course, but why if you don't have to??? I think if more people started to coupon and saw what it can do they would not judge couponers so harsh. Before I started couponing, I was one of those people who would get mad waiting in line if someone had coupons (sad to say but it is true) but now that I started I get it, and now when someone is in line with coupons I wait and smile because I know how that person thinks. Or if a couponer is getting nagged at someone I nag back at them. Now that I save so much money I will never go back!
